Positive feedback vs Negative feedback

In the control system or circuit analysis, we talked a lot about feedback. It contains two different operations: positive and negative.

For negative feedback, it makes the output signal inversely affecting the input signal. The error from system output becomes smaller compared to the target. The system is going toward a stable situation.

For positive feedback, the output signal has positive effect on input signal. It increases the system error and makes the system unstable or oscillating.
